In Collaboration with Artist Mouse

I've been dying to share these images for months since myself and musical artist Mouse collaborated in the Studio earlier this year; and now that she's officially launched, I can finally share them on the blog.

Channelling cute, playful, edgy and sexy all at once; Mouse gives great 90's vibes in this shoot with a modern, more cutthroat twist. Her mix of clothing colour and texture created some great looks that were a pleasure to shoot, and really gave me a different vibe to the style I usually work with.

She's definitely an artist to watch out for; already racking up nearly a thousand followers on insta before her debut single release, she may be small, but she is mighty. Check her out at -

Dangerous Beauty in the Studio

I'm lucky that I get to photograph this beautiful lady often - because she really knows how to embody classic Femme Fatale beauty; stunning and a little bit dangerous. With this shoot we went for a mix of dominating presence and softer, golden glamour era poses. I'm really happy with the results and can't wait to have her back in the studio later this month.

Celebrating Winter with Urban Witchery

Although it may not be apparent in the United Kingdom; it is officially spring, and as we leave the dark embrace of winter, something brighter this way comes. So this month myself and Katie at www.urbanwitchery.co.uk decided to celebrate the last remnants of winter with our dark, Gothic and all encompassing shoot. All things opulent were used; from rich black velvet cloaks, to seemingly infinite flickering candles and a beautiful gold skull - the key was to create a womb like environment; from which we will emerge refreshed and ready for summer approaching. Many of our collaborative works can be seen on both my site and Katie's; pop over for a visit at -

The Peacock Parlour

I love having the opportunity to shoot in a new space; especially one as beautiful as the Peacock Parlour in North London. The decor is sumptuous, Gothic and decadent; everything I love in an interior! We had lots of fun trying out the different areas of the parlour, and working with different studio and ambient lights to create different styles and effects. The overall shoot was a great excuse to pop to London and get creative!

Dark Beauty with a Facebook Winner

At the end of last year I held a competition on my Facebook page for one lucky winner to collaborate on a portrait shoot of their choosing. The very beautiful Cosplayer and creative Nes Can was the winner; and I was super excited to work with her to create something unique. With the theme of Russian Orthodox art as our base, I set about making headdresses and researching Catholic artwork as inspiration. The final images are a mix of dark, ethereal and beautiful; Nes' features work so well with this style and the post production being a little more creative than usual has really evoked the Russian Orthodox image. In short, I'm super happy!

In the Studio with My Only Sun

It's always fun getting to work with new people, especially when I get to work in a couple of different styles in one studio shoot. Bristol band My Only Sun are a two piece British Garage rock new to the Southwest music scene; and they wanted some new shots to go with their upcoming gigs in the local area. It's refreshing for me personally to work more with male portraiture; as I predominantly shoot women, so it's been good for everyone involved!

A Round up of 2017 so far

So it's been a long time since I last posted a blog entry; partly due to being busy, partly due to forgetfulness - but it's been a good year in terms of photography and video so far. I have had the priviledge of working in Italy and Amsterdam this spring; filming Snow sports in northern Italy and touring the beautiful city of Amsterdam. I have also worked for some companies much closer to home, including one of my all-time-favourite-brands; Coco De Mer, for their Valentines launch campaign. I just love working with such beautiful products and really spending time creating sumptuous lighting and working with rich, deep colour. Below is a round up of my favourite shots for this luxury brand.

Beauty from Switzerland

Quite possibly my favourite photo shoot of 2016; ever since I shot these images back in September, I have been dying to publish them! However due to them being used for a competitive hair styling event in Switzerland, I have not been allowed to publish them until now.

This is a photo series I'm really happy with; thanks to the gorgeous model Alessandra, and the very talented skills of hairdresser Melanie! These were taken for Switzerland's International Hair Contest 2016, and they were top secret until December 1st. I particularly love the vibrancy of Alessandra's hair in contrast with the stark and cold background, neon pink hair is definitely eye catching and awesome to photograph!

Self Portraits

Anyone who knows me, knows that I hate taking my own photograph. I've always seen myself as belonging the 'other side' of the lens. To me, it feels like an uncomfortable vanity to photograph myself; that either I am fishing for compliments (I'm not) or I think that I'm so great, my face is worthy of photographing (I don't.) I have moderately good bone structure and I don't despise my features (I'm never going to have anyone else's so I may as well accept my own), but as with any person who has seen their own reflection everyday for the entirety of their lives; I'm sick of my own face, it's dull, it doesn't excite me, I don't want to fixate on it like I do other peoples faces/bone structures/unique features.

That being said, sometimes it's nice having a resource right there for a quiet evening when you've nothing else to do - and you bought these contact lenses for Halloween and then never used them - and they make you feel sufficiently odd and detached from the image you're used to seeing in the mirror. It's like being someone else for the few hours, someone creepier, someone, less human (sometimes that seems like quite the achievement.)

So, with that in mind, here is a set of photographs of my own face - inspired by some Pagan make up I saw on Pinterest, and the urge to use black contact lenses; because they make everyone look animalistic and feral, and that makes me happy.

Enjoy.

Strong is the new Sexy

Last week I was asked to organise a fitness shoot with a very beautiful and badass personal trainer, Jodie. Excited to try a different version of traditional beauty shoots, of course I wanted to get involved! Despite it being October we opted for an outdoor shoot (Jodie is brave!) and we set up in the local skate park for some awesome graffiti and urban walls as our backdrop. We tried a few different poses with various props Jodie had at hand to demonstrate the different aspects of Jodie's teaching; and we both are happy with the outcomes. I think Jodie definitely embodies strong and beautiful, a woman with an awesome career. We will definitely be doing more shoots in the future.

Enjoy!

Winter is coming...

Hello everyone! As this is my first blog post, what better way to start than with a photo shoot? I had the privilege of photographing a very beautiful Swiss lady, named Alessandra, for an International Beauty Contest 2 weeks ago, and managed to squeeze in a bit of extra time to try out a portrait I had wanted to do with her for weeks. I'm really happy with the photographs we took for the contest, unfortunately I can't show them to the rest of the world until early December, BUT, I can publish our mini shoot on here, today!

I was inspired by winter coming and wanted to shoot something darker and colder than my usual colourful stuff. We went for warrior/witch inspired make up, simple black airbrushing from the hairline to smudged below the eyes, Alessandra has excellent bone structure so she didn't need anything else. She has bright pink hair in colour (which you will see in the IBC photographs) and this translated really well into black and white tones.

Enjoy!
